SMA Mineral - A world full of lime

Quicklime and Cement

Lime mixed with cement is used in construction and building contexts to enhance the properties of the material.

Lime mixed with cement is used in several construction and building contexts to improve the material’s properties and provide various functional advantages.

Areas of Use

Mixtures of lime and cement are widely used in the production of mortar, concrete, and plaster.

Another important application is soil stabilization in areas where the soil is too loose or porous. The mixture can be used to improve the load-bearing capacity of the soil, for example in road construction, foundations, and similar structures.

SMA Minerals KC Binder is a product specifically developed for use in soil stabilization. KC Binder is offered in several different mixing ratios of ground burned lime and cement.

SC Binder and Spectra are examples of other products intended for the same purpose.
