Sandarne

The Sandarne lime plant is located just under 10 kilometers outside of Söderhamn. SMA acquired the facility from Stora Cell in 1995, where the lime plant had been part of the pulp mill’s production line until its closure. SMA Mineral’s production in Sandarne began in the summer of 1996 and is the group’s only meso-kiln.

In addition to the re-burned meso-lime, other cellulose lime is received at the company’s own harbor, allowing lime qualities to be customized based on customer needs before bulk shipments are delivered back to the pulp industry.
