SMA Mineral - A world full of lime
The Loukolampi lime plant was established in the 1920s and was taken over by SMA Mineral in 2000. After a fire in 2005, the plant was rebuilt and is now the most modern lime plant in Finland.
At Loukolampi, crushed and ground products are produced for agriculture, animal feed, peat, asphalt, water treatment, flue gas cleaning, and the construction industry. The raw materials come from two sources: dolomite from Ankele, 20 km away, and limestone from Röyttä.
