Hi Azam! Can you tell us what it means to be a laboratory technician at SMA Mineral?

As a laboratory technician at SMA Mineral, I mainly work with routine analyses to ensure high quality in our work. I have also led a project to implement a 5S standard in the lab, which creates a safer and more efficient working environment. Now that the project is nearing its completion, it feels really rewarding to see the results. Additionally, I write user guides for our analyses and processes, which contributes to both the structure and development of the lab and the company as a whole.

What makes you enjoy your role so much?

When I moved to Sweden about three years ago, it was important for me to find a workplace where I could both thrive and grow. With my background in clinical laboratory science and health management, I immediately felt that the laboratory technician role would offer exciting challenges and tasks that suited my education. The job turned out to be a perfect match.

I enjoy my tasks because they are both fun and challenging, which is very important to me. I also have two amazing colleagues in the lab who are incredibly helpful and supportive. They make me feel even more comfortable at the company, and together we create a work environment where every day feels rewarding.

How would you describe SMA Mineral to someone who is considering joining the team?

I would describe SMA Mineral as a company with a strong family-like atmosphere and a genuine desire to take care of both the staff and the business. During my time here, I’ve seen many improvements that really show the company is on an exciting development journey, in my opinion.
