SMA Mineral - A world full of lime
Luleå Lime Plant is Sweden’s northernmost lime kiln and consists of a Maerz shaft kiln built in 1980. SMA Mineral acquired the plant in 2014 from SSAB. The plant is located within SSAB’s industrial area, which is also the largest customer. Here, quicklime is produced primarily for the steel and mining industries.
