SMA Mineral - A world full of lime
SMA Mineral is one of Northern Europe's leading producers of lime products. By combining efficient limestone extraction with knowledge-driven refinement, we can offer high-quality products for a variety of applications.
Our business idea is to refine stone materials, primarily carbonate stones, into mineral products tailored to meet our customers' requirements.
The refining process includes extraction, crushing, screening, and – when applicable – calcining of carbonate stone and dolomite into quicklime and burnt dolomite. We also produce slaked lime and mine and refine silicon-rich minerals.
Our products are used in the steel, mining, paper, and pulp industries, as well as in the construction and civil engineering sectors.
The positive impact of our products on air and water – for example, in the purification of flue gases and water, and to counteract acidification of soil, lakes, and other watercourses – also makes them essential building blocks in the effort for a sustainable future environment.
SMA Mineral Northern Europe brings together the part of the group’s operations based in the Nordic countries and the Baltics.
We currently have production at around 20 locations in Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Estonia. We also have terminals located to facilitate logistics for our customers. Our market spans industries such as industrial, infrastructure, environment, and agriculture across all of Northern Europe.
Our headquarters are located in Persberg, Värmland.
