SMA Mineral - A world full of lime

Social Responsibility

SMA Mineral works towards a safe, secure, and stimulating work environment where competent, engaged employees thrive and want to continue developing. We achieve this goal by analyzing the risks at our workplaces, but also by learning to understand how our employees value their work here with us. With knowledge of these issues, we can prevent accidents and ill health and create a pleasant workplace with sound values.

Our environmental work is guided by an overarching corporate policy that includes environment, quality, health, and safety. SMA Mineral is environmentally certified according to ISO 14001. We continuously work to prevent environmental risks and minimize our impact on the climate and the environment.

Safe Working Environment

A safe workplace with a good working environment impacts employee well-being, and when employees feel good at work, their engagement increases.

Work environment and safety are important pieces of the puzzle in achieving the company's strategic goal of engaged employees. To move forward, we need structure in what we do, based on a preventive work environment approach.

Education

Employees at our production facilities are exposed to various risks. Therefore, training for employees and contractors is extremely important.

Every year, an individual competency development plan is created for all employees. This way, the need for all types of competencies required for an employee to perform their tasks safely is addressed.

Responsibility for the Local Community

At SMA Mineral, we are positive about sponsoring in a reasonable scope to sports teams or other non-profit organizations. As a priority, we choose to be visible in areas where we or our customers are located.

We prioritize sponsorship for youth activities and organizations with a policy and values that we perceive align with our own.

Wellness

The group's wellness policy aims to create a healthier and more motivated workforce, which benefits both the employee and the employer.

Wellness should be part of the holistic view of the workplace and all aspects of the work environment. Positive employee measures and active wellness initiatives are implemented to prevent ill health in the workplace and long-term sickness leave.

Human Rights and Working Methods

It is a given that all activities contributing to our products must be carried out with respect for human rights.

Our codes of conduct are therefore based on international agreements that protect individuals' fundamental rights and equality.

Engaged Employees

Engagement is the key to success and the path to achieving other strategic goals. Measuring the well-being and health of our employees and gathering opinions on important issues is the foundation for this.

We regularly conduct surveys using the tool Winningtemp. This tool provides us with the basis for good dialogue and the opportunity for continuous feedback between managers and employees.
